About Me

I am a Registered Nurse in British Columbia with over 20 years of experience spanning acute care, palliative home care, chronic disease management, and clinical education. My career has been a journey of evolving from bedside clinician to clinical leader and educator, driven by a deep sense of compassion and a constant curiosity about how to strengthen the healthcare system.

I currently work as a Clinical Resource Nurse with the Fraser Health Authority, supporting regional home and community care programs. In this role, I contribute to standardization of care coordination, education development, quality improvement, and the implementation of provincial health initiatives. I am also actively involved in research and policy development alongside professional practice leaders and clinical experts.

Previously, I served as a Clinical Practice Leader in Fraser Health Authority's Home and Community Care Program, where I discovered a passion for adult learning. I focused on staff development, clinical mentorship, operational excellence, and quality improvement. Earlier in my career, I worked as an RN Case Manager and Palliative Community Care Coordinator, providing holistic, client-centred care in home settings in British Columbia and Alberta.

Professional Identity & Values

My nursing philosophy centres on the whole person. Working in home and community care reshaped my understanding of nursing from a series of clinical tasks to a fundamental way of being with others. I believe empathy is not just a tool but a space I share with the client through care delivery. Whether I am troubleshooting complex central line access or guiding families through end-of-life planning, I view clinical competence as a moral commitment to honouring the dignity of each person.

In my educator role, I strive to bring together the heart, the head, and the hands of nursing as a human-centred profession. I value curiosity, self-directedness, and evidence-based practice, and I aim to foster these qualities in the nurses I support.

The nurse knows exactly why and when to do this, because he or she is tuned into the whole person as patient and because the nurse wants to provide comfort, to soothe in times of distress and sorrow.
